Scaling & Root Planing

Scaling and root planing, more commonly referred to as a deep cleaning, is a two-step process that can be used to maintain the health of your smile, minimize symptoms of gum disease, and in some cases, reverse gum disease altogether. First, our team will thoroughly remove all plaque and tartar accumulation from the surface of the teeth. We’ll then smooth out the roots of the teeth by removing hardened deposits of bacteria. This will allow the gum tissue to reattach to the teeth and protect the vulnerable roots underneath.
Antibiotic Treatment

In combination with scaling and root planing, we may also recommend antibiotic treatment. In the form of either a mouthwash or pills, our team will prescribe you antibiotics to help minimize the prevalence of harmful oral bacteria to help your body fight off the infection. After about two weeks, we’ll have you come back in for a follow-up to check on your symptoms.
Chao Pinhole Technique

The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST), is a non-invasive treatment used to help address gum recession and improve sensitivity and other symptoms of gum disease, as well as prevent tooth loss. It has been featured in the International Journal of Periodontics and is an incision- and suture-free procedure that helps protect the vulnerable roots of your teeth.
