Meet Dr. Marisol Trautmann
After 28 years of practicing dentistry, I still wake up every day with renewed commitment to tackle the day and aspiration to change someone’s life. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to practice my passion and my career– I love what I do.
I have had the pleasure of calling Prosper my home for the last thirteen years, and with the help of this wonderful community, my three sons are growing into respectable young men.
To explain a little bit about myself, I pursued my specialty degree in Prosthodontics at Ohio State University, and I have been practicing since 1997. Prosthodontics is the dental profession pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, and appearance of healthy teeth. I treat patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes. I am also a lifelong learner and I am always looking for opportunities to improve my skills through further training on the best techniques to treat the most common and the most complicated oral conditions.
It might seem like my job is to restore teeth with crowns and fillings and replace missing teeth, but that is not the way I approach my profession. I aim to develop candid and sincere relationships with my patients, to relieve them from pain, to change their smiles, and to improve their lives. I help patients build confidence for interviews and new jobs, and I assist them in preparing for wedding pictures and graduations. I enjoy hearing tooth fairy stories when baby teeth give way to permanent teeth, and I give grandmothers and grandfathers their speech back so they can read stories to their grandchildren. I also recommend sleep apnea treatments so patients can sleep better and function optimally. Most of all, however, I guide patients in understanding their dental challenges and work with them to achieve oral health so they can ultimately feel proud of their teeth. I am looking forward to offering this kind of relationship and service to all of Prosper.
Our practice philosophy at Prosper Dental Health is totally patient oriented, focusing on your health and your beautiful smile. They say that the eyes are windows to your soul. I would add that your beautiful smile is a window to your overall health. I enjoy offering you the latest technology to help you have a wonderful experience at our dental office. I also hold a sedation license so I can make you feel comfortable and at ease during your treatment.
Let me welcome you to Prosper Dental Health. I hope you can come soon to enjoy a rewarding dental experience. I look forward to treating you and your family.
Meet Dr. Bill Gerlach
My goal is to provide high-quality dentistry to all of my patients. Our office focuses on comprehensive care by providing cosmetic dentistry, full mouth restoration/reconstruction, sedation dentistry, TMJ treatment, and sleep apnea appliances. By working in conjunction with trusted specialists, we achieve the desired aesthetic and functional outcome each individual patient deserves.
From 1980-1983 I attended Northwestern University in Chicago and then attended Texas A&M College of Dentistry. My wife, Dr. Lynne Gerlach, and I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1987 and began practicing in Plano. I have continued my education with esteemed learning centers such as Spear, Dawson, and The Pankey Institute.
Continuing to be involved in organized dentistry in many capacities is important to me. I was elected President of the 9,100 member Texas Dental Association (concludes in May, 2019), an honor to which I am extraordinarily humbled. As such, I am also a member of the American Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society and the North Texas Dental Society. I was a co-founder of the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation, have been a delegate to the TDA House of Delegates for the past ten years, as well as a Delegate to the ADA House of Delegates.
I have been blessed to be recognized with many honors, including fellowships in the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, and the Academy of Dentistry International, as well as being voted D Magazine’s Best Dentist in Dallas every year since 2005, and Texas Monthly Super Dentist since 2006.
I have a long history of care for the underserved, initiating Collin County Children’s Clinic and the Plano Dental Clinic, as well as continuing my involvement in the Texas Missions of Mercy and Smiles Foundation.
I want to welcome you and your family to Prosper Dental Health. I look forward to working with you and providing exceptional dental care.
Meet the Team
Kristie is a Registered Dental Assistant and is our front office lead. She handles scheduling, patient accounts, insurance questions and makes sure our practice runs smoothly. Kristie says her favorite thing about dentistry is getting to know our patients and helping them achieve a beautiful smile. She and her family have lived in Texas since 2004 and in Prosper since 2008. She loves reading, traveling, spending time with her husband and their combined family of 10 children as well as serving in her church.
Izabela, “Iza”, is one of our Registered Dental Assistants. Iza graduated from Collin College Assisting Program in 1999 and has been caring for patients since. Her goal is to provide the best possible care while adding a bit of humor with her enjoyable personality. She enjoys watching her son play soccer, shopping with her daughter, and taking family trips.
Lauren was born a Texan, grew up in several other states, but made her way back “home” in 2002. She attended dental hygiene school at Texas Woman’s University and graduated with honors in 2005. She married her husband in 2007 and has three boys who keep their house in constant chaos! They also have their first born “fur baby” named Roxy. Lauren lives in Prosper and stays busy with t-ball, church, and any activities that keep her boys out of trouble!
Kristi is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She attended Abilene Christian University and then completed hygiene school at Blinn College while her husband got his masters degree at Texas A&M. They moved to Prosper in 2017 from San Antonio. Her passion in dentistry is improving smiles and educating her patients in improved health through preventative care. When she’s not in the office, Kristi enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children and pouring into the lives of other’s through church volunteer work and mission trips.
